'Euro 2004 Fever At Kitten Club'

Put together water, a ball, sexy Kittens and Randy Penthouse Guests and what do you get... Volsoc! To coincide with the opening of the Euro 2004 soccer championship in Portugal the Kitten Club held their inaugural Volsoc event in the adjoining Spa Pool, if you don't already know 'The Most Exotic' Spa Pool in Asia.Volsoc is a pool game invented by the Kitten Club and is a cross between volley ball and soccer. Supposed to be a non contact event but, we found that the temptations were too much to resist for some players, who paid heavy penalties...

To play you need a ball and two goals, one at each end of the pool. Points are scored by punching the ball into the goal. Rules - 3 Players Per Team (Could be more depending on the size of the pool). Players can not move with the ball. Pass to a team mate by throwing the ball. Team mate can catch the ball & pass to another team mate or try punch the ball into the goal. No contact with an opposing team player. Playing time 20 minutes each half (2 half's). Attire, as little as possible...

Squads:

Kitten Club - Dao (Captain), Anne, Sofia, Apple, Ria - Manager/Mascot Brian (Kitten Club Bar Manager)

Penthouse - Alun & Brian (UK), Rolf & Peter (USA), Max & Johan (Sweden), - Manager/Mascot Maew (New Reception Babe)

Referee - Pierre Lugi Dadley (Italy) & his piercing eyes, Assistants Dadley offspring the expanding Kathy & randy Ed.

As you would expect Dao won the toss with Alun. He didn't stand a chance, Dao is a tossing artist and has been practicing for many years. Brian thought that his mate Alun should have won as he has known him as a tosser all his life! Anyway the Kitten Club punched off with the 'A' team, Dao, Anne and Sofia attacking the Soi Pattaya Land 2 end and the PH team, Alun, Peter and Johan defending the Car Park end. Dao through to Anne who was immediately attacked by Johan, who had complexly forgotten that this was a non contact sport, and an under water wrestling match developed. Dadley had to wade in and drag the two players, who were now at it like pit bull terriers, apart and sinned binned them both. The crown of kittens and PH guests, looking down from the unique room 220 private balcony really seemed to be enjoying this start to the game and chants of your gonna get your **** balls licked in, I'm for ever blowing punters and your never walk alone sexy man, could be heard. After the fuss had died down Dadley awarded a penalty which Sofia duly punched into the net (unlike Beckhams whose ended up in row x). The start of the game set the tone for the rest of the game. Brain got a red card for picking up Sofia by her ankles and trying to remove her bikini with his teeth. He was later given a 2 week bar fine and sentenced to 100 hours community service. He spent the next two weeks in Nakan Sawan carrying out his sentence with Sofia. Max nearly broke his nose in an hilarious moment as Bok went flying through the air intending to punch the ball goalwards only to connect with Max. Ria was rather unfairly penalized, the action replays showed she did mean to play the ball, the red card came out again and she was later given a taxi ride home fine and sentenced to 5 minutes falang service. This she spent in Kitten Club taking care of Max's nose. With the score at 2-2, with 10 seconds to go and only two players from each side left in the game, all the rest had been red carded or in the sin bin, Rolf had the chance of a free punch. As he through the ball up Apple launched herself towards Rolf and her head made contact just below his belt. Rolf was polaxed but (he = was later seen reading the small print of his travel insurance), for some inexplicable reason, Dadley missed it and allowed Apple to gather the ball and punch it into the net. Game over.

Volsoc President, Mr. Weak Blatter presented the winners trophy to winning captain Dao, in her winners speech she thanked her family for standing by her, despite the financial sacrifices they had to make, her coach, Arsen Tender, for his devoted attention and support that has helped put her to reach the top, the middle and bottom of her game...

Late Drug News: In all the excitement Ria forgot that she had been selected to take the obligatory drug test. She claimed that she had other things on her mind such as moving to a new room. Attempts were made to call her on her mobile phone but all calls were unanswered and, Ria could not make any return calls, as she had used up all her credit. Ria later took a test and was clear of any performance enhancing drugs. However, the Volsac Governing Body took a dim view of this and banned her for 8 years. Team manager Brian, although devastated to loose his prize defender, commented that he had an emerging young talent named Teri lined up to replace Ria....

Pattaya Weather Update

May and June saw the temperatures drop from the hottest ever recordable sizzling April. This is because the rainy season is here and usually runs until September. But, now is a good time to come. It's low season. Check out the low season hotel special offers as well other low season offers around the town. As for the rain it just three times of times a day and you can normally set your watch by it, 6.00 am, 6.00 pm and midnight. During the day you can still have a great day on the beach and get a tan.

Penthouse Hotel Update

We are now in low season so keep checking the website, www.penthousehotel.com for all kinds of 'Special Low Season' offers. One small drawback from that is that the Navy are in town. They are parked up in Sattahip (40 minutes from Pattaya). It is Cobra Gold time again and will last until the end of May. Being parked up in Sattahip means that the numbers around town are less than usual so, if you are arriving soon, don't worry.

Christmas/New Year 2004

At this ‘Special Time’ of year the Penthouse is always very busy. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you confirm your booking as soon as possible.

Please remember that we have a peak season adjustment that runs from 20th December until 3rd January (15% per night added to the normal room tariff). As usual we will be having the two parties. Champagne Christmas Dinner, the very best in town …. & New Year Buffet Dinner Party which includes all - I said all drinks up until midnight & a free bottle of Champagne to your room. The cost of each party is only 1,800Baht (US$ 45) and great value. The parties are just getting 'Better and Better'. 2003 was the best yet and we expect the same 2004.

Penthouse Rooms

If you have looked at the hotel web site you will have noticed that there are many theme rooms and suites. All rooms and suites have been renovated and furnished to the highest standards. Prices do differ and this reflects to what is available in different rooms. For example Jacuzzi rooms are more expensive that shower rooms. The web site also describes the rooms in full details. We do get 'frequently' asked questions about the rooms and here we will try to answer some of those questions:

Air Conditioning: All rooms have at least one remote control A/C system. The suites have 3 and 4.

Cable TV: All rooms have at least one remote control Cable TV. There is a choice of 60 channels including, ESPN Sports, CNN, BBC World, Star World, Star Sports, Fox News, TV5, DW, Rai International, a selection of movie channels and of course the Kitten Club Channel.

Beds: All beds are King Size with 8 inch Mattresses.

Mirrors: Ceiling & Wall mirrors are found in all Penthouse Rooms. Positioned to add value and charm to the rooms

DVD/CD Players: Included in all Jacuzzi Rooms and Suites. Also, available for rent from reception.

Mini Bar: Well stocked Mini Bars can be found in all rooms.

Whirlpools/Jacuzzi: Included in some rooms and all suites.

Curtains: All curtains include 'Black Out'.

Safe Deposit Boxes: Safe Deposit Boxes can be found in reception. Putting them in rooms has been considered but rejected as it could be a safety risk for guests. The reason? If you were to invite a guest(s) to your room (god forbid) they might decide they would like to inspect the contents of the safe & this could lead to problems...

Room Service: 24 Hour Room Service.

Maid Service: 24 Hour Maid Service.

Joiner Fees: Becoming quite a rarity in Pattaya. The Penthouse Hotel has no joiner fees. All we ask you to do is make sure your guest or guests register at reception on arrival.

Star Rating: Many guests have commented that the Penthouse Hotel is better than many 5 Star Hotels located in many different parts of the world that they have stayed in...

Kitten Club

The Kitten Club continues to just get 'Better and Better'. Room has been found for another pool table reducing waiting time. Room has been found but, not a the expense of removing any Kitten Poles, Kitten Cages or the Kitty Carousal. They are all still there with the 100 +, increasing beautiful, increasingly sexy, increasingly encourageable Kitten Hostesses. The club is being extended and. The area in front of the pool that used to be open with two pool tables. This is now enclosed and work has commenced to construct dance stages with Kitten Poles, Kitten Cages and blowers - due to be completed in the next few days and ideal for private parties.

Kitten Birthdays

Ben has just arrived. This 22 year old beauty is from Bangkok and has never worked in the entertainment world before. In Bangkok she worked in a factory making sports bags. She is single and would like to meet a nice man to take care of her. Birthday 22nd August.

Nam has just graduated from front door hostess to fully fledged Kitten. She is 21 years old and really enjoying her new responsibilities inside the club. From Chonburi & she would like to save enough money to start her own business. Birthday 17th May.

Thailand News

Prime Minister was buying Liverpool, as mentioned last month. Still being talked about but, the special lottery idea for funding seems to have been scrapped. The reason being that only rich people would stand a chance to win the big prize (believed to be 1 Billion Baht). Not sure how this would be or if this could be considered gambling. Gambling is outlawed in Thailand and every week the local Pattaya News Channels are showing all kinds of gambling busts. Usually about 9 people, 7 women and two men plying cards. The police confiscate the playing cards and the pot. The pot is normally about 1,000 Baht. The gamblers are normally fined 3,000 Baht and the gambling host 4,000 Baht.

Beer Chang - Looks like Liverpool's Merseyside neighbors Everton will be sponsored by Beer Chang this coming season. Not sure if the money will be enough to keep Wayne Rooney at Everton. Strong stuff Beer Chang so if Everton want to improve on last season, can't do much worse, then they should make sure that no crates of BC make it to the team bus.

Carrefour have opened a mega store in Pattaya Klang just before Foodland. A fine store with many fine shopping and eating locations and a fine Car Park except if you name is Khun Pitak. He parked his Toyota pick up and went shopping. An hour later he returned to find his pick up had be broken into. Missing items included, a Smith and Western Revolver, a Necklace work 15,000 Baht, a Bracelet worth 16,000 Baht, 60,000 Baht cash and a Gold Snake Chain worth a staggering 300,000 Baht...

Unrest in the South. When you think about Thailand you think about Buddhism. However, in the South of Thailand this is not the case. Towns such as Pattani, Yala & Narathiwat are predominantly Muslim. Things seemed to have quietened down lately.

Pattaya 24/7. A new book has just hit the local newsstands called Pattaya 24/7. Written by Christopher G Moore a Canadian who has been living in Bangkok for 16 years. He has had 17 novels published. Eight of which (including Pattaya 24/7) include the Vincent Calvino series.

An eccentric millionaire in the music business from London England decides to drop out and move to Thailand where he builds the house of his dreams in the Jomtien Beach area (10 minutes from Pattaya). One day he comes home and finds his Gardener dead. He calls his friend Vincent Calvino to investigate. Calvino uncovers an explosive terrorist situation......

Comments - This book is about expats, of which there are a great number in Pattaya. All have different pasts and some more shady than others. We also live in a world where terrorism is becoming more and more a part of every day life. Expats in Pattaya do meet other expats as well as tourists and form alliances. Remember, the wrong person can sometimes be invite to the wrong place.... An interesting read that makes a pleasant change from the books about bars and bar girls.

Property in Pattaya

On a regular basis we are asked about buying property in Thailand and, as much as we will always want you to stay with us, we realize that Thailand does have investment potential. Also, if you are thinking of moving to Thailand to live, living here can also be very good as long as you quickly learn the rules. This is not so easy as you can't buy a book of rules. You learn by experience, common sense and, sometimes, you can get good advise from expats. We say sometimes as not all expats will have your best interests at heart.

Buying Tip

Always remember that you are the buyer and you will have bidders (owners or agents) who want you to buy their property. Try to find at least 3 bidders for your bid list. That could be three different properties, in which case you can select the property that is closest to your actual requirement or, if you have your heart set on one property and are using an agent, try and find 2 other agents selling the same property. Consider all 3 bids and then select the one that suits you best. Cost is a major consideration, all 3 agents could be offering different prices but also look out for what kinds of After Sales Services are available.

Thinking About Moving to Thailand - Now or in the Future?

Ex Pat Clubs

Ex-Pat Clubs seem to be springing up all over the place. The clubs meet on a regular basis and have guest speakers advising local ex-pats on important matters. Once such club is the Pattaya Ex-Pat Club who meet every Saturday morning at the Green Tree Restaurant.

Everyone is welcome at this club. There are also clubs for ex-pats from different countries such as Germany, England, Norway and recently the Pattaya Dutch Club was formed. This club meets in Jomtien once a month. There are also many other types of clubs, Ladies Clubs, Vegetarian Clubs, Lawn Bowling and a variety of other Sports Clubs.If you are thinking about moving here then, if you want to, you should be able to find a club that suits you.
